Not including walkability score or transit infrastructure in here makes this a lot less inaccurate, especially for the stated purpose of raising a family. It's not going to matter much if schools are good if you don't have the time to drive your children literally everywhere
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting perspective, I think it depends on the age of your family. For young kids, I've found public transit to be nearly useless since it is much easier to pack strollers, car seats, and all of your kid's necessities in your own car than haul it on transit. There are also safety concerns on both BART and Light Rail. If you look at the top 25, none really have great transit systems and I understand why now. Walkability on there other hand is a huge plus in my book. As a new dad I have been able to retain some sanity by walking to happy hours (with the baby, family and friends) within 20min of where I live.
