Silicon Valley Restaurant Week is back and includes around 50 participating locations! Each restaurant will offer a fixed-price 3-course menu with several options. Cafe Stritch even has a 3-course $15 menu that looks really good.
There are 14 restaurants participating from Downtown San Jose and 12 restaurants from other parts of San Jose. The event runs until October 23rd and you can find a full list of restaurants over here.

ReplyDeleteIMO, SVRW has always been disappointing and this round looks like no exception. San Jose has an amazing amount of high-quality inexpensive restaurants from so many countries but very respected few high-end restaurants. Showcasing the latter is usually the point of "Restaurant Week" in various cities.
ReplyDeleteAnd the prices for the few high-end ones on here are too expensive to get the casual-to-moderately-pretentious diner interested. (Menus upwards of $40-45. I remember when they used to be $30 for 3 courses for most restaurant weeks, and that wasn't that long ago.)
Some of the cheaper ethnic ones look like they're trying to get in on the action, but IMO just aren't well set up for something like this. Most of the set menus look very similar to how much you'd pay if you got each dish individually, but with significantly fewer choices.
