The new Samsung HQ broke ground several weeks ago and we have all seen the photo mock-ups of what the final product will look like. However, the video below gives a much better feeling of what it will be like to walk through the new buildings and drive around them. I think it is pretty safe to say that when complete, this will be the most impressive office building in San Jose and perhaps even Silicon Valley. Can't wait to see the end result!

Thats impressive. Great use of brining the outside in.
ReplyDeleteAs I've said from the start, what a shame this isn't downtown, because this would have been a game changer and really brought downtown to a different level.
It has some interesting elements, but the video makes me think it is a bit of a disjointed design. What is up with the grass patches and the awkward placement of the basketball court. I am glad they are building in san jose, but this thing is a little odd to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very modern design. I think you'll have to see it in person to really judge, and I have a feeling that the renders and photos won't do this building justice. It will be the most unique office building in San Jose when it's done.
DeleteI agree that it would have been nice to have this downtown, but I don't mind that it's happening in North San Jose. This project is really going to provide a focal point for all the new development that's happening in NSJ. Love that it's right on light rail, too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThis needs to be in NSJ. It's all part of a plan to improve North 1st street i.e. bring it into the 21st century. Hopefully it can spur other development up & down the street.
