Retail Briefs: New H&M and Right Aid Stores Come to San Jose

The second H&M in San Jose is slated to open on May 5th at Oakridge (the 1st location is at Santana Row). They specialize in inexpensive designer clothing.

In addition, a brand new "customer world" format Rite Aid is opening on April 28th at 3111 McLaughlin Avenue. The spin on the new format seems to be a focus on health and wellness products.

Lastly, the Yard House is now open at Santana Row. Expect an astronomical selection of beers on tap and a very long wait to get a table or bar seat.

  2. went to yardhouse last night. it was really fun. i do agree i wish there was a spot like this in downtown. 3 hour wait for a table but self seating at the bar. these people are making a killing. why doesn't someone with $$ make a place in dt?

  3. The Yardhouse would have been a killer anchor downtown. The Tied house building would have been the perfect size as well. You can't win them all :/ At least we have the only Yardhouse in the Bay Area.

  4. I agree with Jon, H&M would have been a great addition to having Ross downtown for jumpstarting a shopping area that people would come to downtown.

  5. It just seems like the city government isn't doing anything to attract retailers like that. Sorry, Ross doesn't quite cut it. We are the "Capital of Silicon Valley" without an Apple Store. So frickin crazy.

  6. More fail for Downtown. WTF is wrong with the people at City Hall?! They need to lure a big name retailer Downtown to kick start things.

  7. Curious who the people are at the City in charge of procuring retailers in DTSJ? It'd be interesting to talk to them. Anyone know?

  8. I'm VERY interested, as they seem to be completely uninvolved.

  9. Their used to be a site at sanjoseretail.com that promoted and let you see available downtown retail, but it seems to be down.
